CSIRO Staff Association members and delegates are invited to submit an expression of interest to attend Science meets Parliament (SMP) 2023.
The conference is described as ‘Australia’s single largest vehicle for deep engagement between the science and technology sector and decision-makers.’
This year’s event – which includes a return to Parliament House in Canberra – promises ‘an unrivalled program of bespoke training to forge deeper connections between Federal Parliamentarians and those working in science and technology.’
As a founding member of event host Science and Technology Australia (STA), each year the union sponsors a number of Staff Association members to participate.
Staff Association members interested in attending the event should email a brief expression of interest (EOI) to csstaff@cpsu.org.au by Monday 27 February 2023.
Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to apply.
The short EOI should describe the work performed at CSIRO and reasons for the interest in attending SMP.
Last year, CSIRO Staff Association members Naomi Boxall, Flora Kerblat and Rosangela Devilla were sponsored to attend last year’s event.
Watch an interview with Flora, Rosangela and Naomi below.
This year’s SMP program includes three days of online learning and content, plus a return to Parliament House in Canberra with a full day and night’s worth of activities on Capital Hill.
