Staff Association members and delegates are invited to submit an expression of interest to attend Science meets Parliament (SMP) 2026.
SMP is Australia’s premier initiative for fostering meaningful connections between the STEM sector and policymakers.
SMP2026 will be held in Australian Parliament House on 25-26 March 2026.
This national gathering brings together STEM leaders for expert-led professional development, a welcome reception, a Parliamentary forum, a national gala dinner, a televised address at the National Press Club, and intimate meetings with Parliamentarians in small group settings.
As a founding member of event host Science and Technology Australia (STA), each year the union sponsors a number of Staff Association members to participate.
Staff Association members interested in attending the event should email a brief expression of interest (EOI) to csstaff@cpsu.org.au immediately.
Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to apply.
The short EOI should describe the work performed at CSIRO and reasons for the interest in attending SMP.
CSIRO Staff Association members Naomi Boxall, Flora Kerblat and Rosangela Devilla were sponsored to attend the 2022 event.
